Bio

Leilani was born and raised on the beautiful island of Oahu, in Hawaii. Her love of ceramics began after taking a hand building class in high school. Before going off to college, she spent time developing her skills. She earned her BFA, in Detroit in 1992 and her teaching degree in England in 2000. After travelling much of the world and stopping in many different places, she lived in Singapore for 21 years, making slab built, porcelain ceramics in her studio home and teaching at the British International School. She has exhibited in many national and international juried exhibitions and her work has received several awards over the years. Her work has been published in Pottery Making Illustrated and Ceramics Monthly magazines and she has taught workshops to groups of children, teens and adults. As well as working with clay, Leilani enjoys other creative outlets like sewing and cooking. She is also an active outdoors-woman, a proud mom and a loving wife.
